Stack space is the pocket depth required to store the partition when it's fully open. For DuraSound, allow 146mm per lineal metre of opening plus 152mm per lead post. For most projects you'll need the product brochure, technical data sheet, and fabrication measurements form. Architects and builders typically also request the product specification document for inclusion in their project specs. All of these are available to download on this page for both DuraSound and DuraFlex.
To provide an accurate quote we need your clear opening width and height, whether you need acoustic or non-acoustic separation, your preferred configuration (single-parting or bi-parting), and the project address. The more detail you can provide about the space the better — photos are always helpful.
DuraSound can be motorised and this is recommended for openings taller than 4 metres. DuraFlex is manual operation only. Both products are designed for effortless one-handed operation regardless of opening width, thanks to their lightweight aluminium construction.
As a general guide, an Rw33 rating suits primary school classrooms and small meeting rooms. Rw38 is appropriate for church halls, conference rooms, and general classroom use. DuraSound carries an STC43 (Rw43) rating, which exceeds both thresholds and is suitable for the majority of commercial and educational applications. Note that the final acoustic performance of any partition also depends on the surrounding construction — peripheral leakage through ceilings, floors, or HVAC vents can limit effectiveness.
DuraSound must be installed by qualified personnel. DuraFlex can in some cases be customer-installed, though we recommend professional installation for best results.
